The representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), who finances the Tazalyq eco-project visited Atyrau Oil Refinery. The delegation included EBRD Managing Director for Central Asia Zsuzsanna Hargitai, EBRD Head for Kazakhstan Huseyin Ozhan, and specialists of the EBRD Department of Natural Resources for Central Asia Hakob Kagramanyan and Nurzhan Sakhariyev.
During the meeting, the head of AOR LLP Murat Dosmuratov noted that the Tazalyq project is given great attention not only by the local akimat, but also by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
– Tazalyq plays an important role in improving the environmental situation in the city of Atyrau. Now the second stage of modernization of mechanical wastewater treatment units (MWTU) of closed type is underway. We plan to complete the project by the end of the year, - he said.
At the MWTU site, the guests got acquainted with the progress of construction and installation works, asked questions of interest, and expressed hope for further cooperation as well.
– We are implementing several major projects with Samruk-Kazyna. AOR is one of the key enterprises of KazMunayGas, so we hope to continue working together with your Company,– Huseyin Ozhan said.
It is worth reminding that in 2019, AOR started implementing a large-scale Tazalyq project. Within the framework of which, in addition to the modernization of the MWTU, reconstruction of the channel of effluents treated to standard quality and recultivation of part of the evaporation fields are provided. The project is carried out at the expense of borrowed funds from the EBRD.
