As part of the Nauryznama festival, a celebratory event took place at the Atyrau Oil Refinery LLP site to mark the national holiday of Körisw küni, which symbolises renewal, unity and good relations between people.
The festive program began with a theatrical performance entitled “Amal Keldi – Zhyl Keldi!” (The month has come – The year has come) which highlighted the traditions of the Kazakh people and symbolized the arrival of spring. The event featured folk songs, as well as performances of kuy (a traditional Kazakh instrumental piece) and national dances.
Kuanysh Bishimov, Managing Director of ANPZ LLP, addressed the gathering. He noted that Körisw küni helps to strengthen friendship, mutual respect and social cohesion. According to the company’s director, the team’s unity and professionalism form the basis for the plant’s stable operations and production achievements.
The performance highlighted traditions characteristic of the Körisw küni festival. The participants exchanged the traditional greeting “tөs qagysturu” (Chest-to-chest collision), symbolizing the joy of meeting and wishes for well-being. The theatrical segment also featured elements of national culture, including a blessing from Qydyr Ata (a saint among the Turkic people) and scenes depicting national games.
Körisw küni is a special occasion for the Kazakh people, when people greet one another after the winter, wish each other well, put past grievances behind them, and welcome the New Year with good intentions.
At the Atyrau Oil Refinery, such events aim to preserve national traditions and strengthen corporate unity within the workforce. The celebration concluded with a joint performance of the closing song.
